Playing the Numbers is the story of the Harlem numbers game set during the years of the Great Migration. The narration for the film is based on Claude McKay's 1942 essay "The Business of Numbers". The film features interviews with author and activist Louise Meriwether, historians Dr. Shane White, Dr. Irma Watkins- Owens, and Dr. Adrian Burgos, and Senator Waldiba Stewart. The film is written, directed and produced by Gustavius Renwick.
